Mill No. 5 is Hiring a Part Time Event Assistant Near Lowell, MA

The Farm Market at Mill No. 5 is a weekly Sunday marketplace series which celebrates the very best local farms, and food producers. We are looking for a part-time event assistant who will embody our core values and mission and provide assistance during events, mainly The Farm Market.

General Description:

The event assistant works directly with the Farm Market Manager and Property Manager with the goal to provide clear and positive direction to vendors as well as superior customer service to Mill No. 5 patrons and partners.

Skills:

  • Outgoing, high energy, and proactive
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent customer service with clear communication with vendors, patrons, and partners
  • Passionate about building and maintaining community
  • Grace under fire and the ability to think on your feet
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Willing to become TIPS certified in order to sell beer/wine (applicants 18 only considered)
  • Event and Facilities Management experience preferred
  • Job Activities:
  • Assist in setting up/breaking down tables & chairs
  • Open/close alleyway
  • Keep alleyway clean
  • Bring carts in and out of the building during load in/out time
  • Supervise and give directions to vendors during load in/out
  • Direct the flow of vendor and patron traffic
  • Help supervise marketplace and facilities during event hours
  • Work merch table and serve beer/wine during event
  • Clean and maintain bathrooms during events
  • Take out trash
  • Compensation/Benefit:
  • $15/hr
  • Free on-shift beverage (non-alcoholic)
  • Discounted food, and non-alcoholic beverages

Working Hours:

Every Sunday 6 hour shift (or when the last vendor leaves) plus as needed for additional pop-up events.
