The R & D and Sales Support Intern has the responsibility of assisting the R&D team in ingredient sampling, documentation, and lab coordination. 

Primary support will be: Fulfilling and sending out sample requests on behalf of Business Managers. This intern will gather an understanding of the ingredients offered by Milk Specialties Global, including Milk proteins (Casein, Whey) to be essential in sending out appropriate products.

Essential Functions:

• Sales Support-90%

  • Raw Ingredient Samples
  • Preparing documents, sample bags, and shipments of domestic and international protein samples.
  • Customer Specifications
  • Use multiple systems to research and locate products that meet multiple or specific specifications for customer samples.
  • Tracking and Reporting
  • Track all domestic and international samples with product/tracking information. Create and send a monthly sample report.

• R&D Support-10%

  • Trial Support and Logistics
  • Ordering needed materials for processing facility trials
  • Shipping samples from trials to external labs for analysis
  • Protein Inventory
  • Keeping adequate levels of multiple proteins for lab use. Communicating with the R&D team for what products are needed and working with the plants to procure them.
  • Shipments of Products for Testing/Results Collection
  • Shipping products to labs for testing and collecting the results to share with the appropriate R&D team member.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as needed.

Position Requirements:

• Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates high attention to detail, hands-on mind-set, effective time management, proactive disposition and be a flexible team player.
• Strong leadership with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across functions and all levels of management.
• Self-motivated, proactive individual who will constantly seek improvement opportunities.
• Confident problem solver with quick decision-making capability.
