The Manufacturing / Operations Job Family Group is responsible for manufacturing and/or production operations, including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. Sets production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply, staffing resources and volume required to meet demand and to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.
The Machine Operations Job Family is responsible for operating computer and mechanically controlled machine tools to produce and repair precision metal parts for manufacturing equipment including: analyzing computer-aided design (CAD/CAM/CAE) models and engineering specifications to define the dimensions and features of the metal part to be produced; determining the optimal tool path for fabricating the part by selecting appropriate machine tools and specifying the sequence of tool operations; manually setting up/adjusting machine tools and/or loading instructions into computer numeric control (CNC) systems.
Requires skills developed through formal training or work experience- job duties are primarily straightforward, repetitive and manual activities; may collaborate on more complicated tasks. Works within established standards, procedures and guidelines. Employees sometimes require guidance from others.
