Mighty Fit SD is Hiring a Fitness Instructor Near San Diego, CA

Come join a small and personalized gym to make an impact on our clients through fitness!

Mighty Fit SD is a new gym with a Crossfit heritage and now expanding our service to bring an evolved fitness to a broader community. We are seeking an energetic, skilled, and caring fitness instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be leading small groups of clients with a maximum of 12 people through a workout of the day as well as individual sessions with clients to help them achieve their personal goals.

Fitness instructor

: 3770 Hancock St, Ste B; San Diego, CA 92110

Classes are held 6am-7am, 7:30–8:30am, 4:30pm-5:30pm, and 5:30pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday, and 9am on Saturdays. Additional classes 9-10am Mon,Wed, Fri only. Individual sessions during non-class hours as applicable.

$20-$23 per hour depending on experience for classes, $40 /hr for individual sessions

Free gym membership, personal training space opportunities available

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be prompt, prepared and on-time for your classes and end on time as well.
  • Set up necessary equipment to facilitate the day’s workouts
  • Demonstrate and lead correct warm up and stretching techniques to avoid injury
  • Educate and demonstrate the movements in the workout for the day and continue to do so during the workout for individual members as needed
  • Have a working knowledge of each client’s strengths, challenges, and injuries to provide guidance on how to scale the daily workout as needed
  • In emergency perform CPR, administer first aid, or activate other emergency procedures as needed
  • Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, other trainers, and gym management
  • Ensure all clients in a class are in the schedule system and collect payments as needed.
  • Light clean up of equipment/workout area to ensure a clean exercise facility

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Prior experience of at least 1 year preferred in personal training or as gym instructor
  • First Aid and CPR training required
  • Degree in related field or current certification through at least 1 nationally accredited industry association required
  • Level 1 Crossfit or higher certification preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive, patient, and encouraging attitude with clients
  • Good personal fitness level required for various physical duties including lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, jumping, prolonged standing/walking.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week
