Job Description

Job Description

Hello 👋 I’m Grace, Chief Medical Officer at Miga.

I’m excited to open this position for a full-time Registered Dietitian (RD) to join Miga and help us prevent the next million heart attacks and strokes.

Every 20 seconds someone has a heart attack or a stroke. Our mission at Miga is to overcome this unacceptable status quo. The RD will be an important part of our team and integral to the number of lives we can serve (and save).

The ideal candidate is experienced in and passionate about medical nutrition therapy for cardiometabolic health and weight management, has multiple active licenses, loves patient-facing care, is ready to see patients over video visits for 30 hours a week and complete associated chart prep and documentation, is technologically adept and adapts easily to change, and is excited about joining an organization that is growing and iterating quickly.

Who is Miga?
  • Miga is a virtual cardiometabolic clinic.

  • We prevent and manage obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, using medications and intensive lifestyle interventions.

  • Our clinical care is delivered over video visits and async chat by physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), registered dietitians, and health coaches.

  • Care is augmented by a character-driven, gamified app, connected devices, and our own tech platform that enables scalable, efficient, and high-quality clinical services.

  • Read more about our progress and vision in this Substack post from our founders.

  • Learn more at our careers page.

What’s the bottom line?
  • Early-stage digital health company that has raised a $12 million seed round.

  • Salary range = $65,000–$80,000

  • Jarrad and Dre (Co-Founders) are seasoned operators who’ve built and grown companies before.

What is my mission?

Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy for patients with overweight and obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, type 2 diabetes, and prediabetes over video visits and document visits to share with a multidisciplinary team.

What will I do?
  1. Provide evidence-based and patient-centered medical nutrition therapy to patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, pre-diabetes, overweight, and obesity.

  2. Complete at least 30-hours synchronous video visits with Miga patients per week.

  3. Prepare for visits by reading chart notes from the rest of a patient’s multidisciplinary team (including a provider and health coach) so that other team members’ recommendations can be reinforced during visits.

  4. Clearly and concisely document video visits within 24 hours in a charting template so that the rest of the multidisciplinary team understands the content of the visits.

  5. Maintain high scores ( >4/5) on process, quality, and patient satisfaction metrics.

  6. Communicate with patients asynchronously using our provider app.

  7. Participate in weekly clinical meetings, educational sessions, and broader team meetings.

  8. Use and adapt to multiple technological platforms.

Who is Miga looking for?

We are looking for RDs with:

  • Passionate about and experienced in medical nutrition therapy for cardiometabolic health and weight management.

  • Efficient, clear, and concise at communicating with patients and other team members.

  • Excited to work on a multidisciplinary team with physicians, APPs, other registered dietitians, and health coaches;

  • Technically adept and willing to learn and work in multiple new technology platforms; and

  • Team players who are adaptive to change in a rapidly growing and iterating organization backed by a supportive team and culture.
