I’m excited to open this position for a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join Miga and help us prevent the next million heart attacks and strokes.
Every 20 seconds someone has a heart attack or a stroke. Our mission at Miga is to overcome this unacceptable status quo. The NP will be an important part of our team and integral to the number of lives we can serve (and save).
The ideal candidate is experienced in and passionate about cardiometabolic health and weight management, has multiple active licenses, loves patient-facing care, is ready to see patients over video visits for 32 hours a week and complete associated chart prep and documentation, is technologically adept and adapts easily to change, and is excited about joining an organization that is growing and iterating quickly.
Who is Miga?Miga is a virtual cardiometabolic clinic.
We prevent and manage obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, using medications and intensive lifestyle interventions.
Our clinical care is delivered over video visits and async chat by physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), registered dietitians, and health coaches.
Care is augmented by a character-driven, gamified app, connected devices, and our own tech platform that enables scalable, efficient, and high-quality clinical services.

Searching for full-time NPs with a passion for delivering evidence-based medicine to patients with cardiometabolic conditions via telehealth.
Remote work and can be located anywhere in the United States.
Salary range = $120,000-$145,000 per year.

Evaluate and manage patients with overweight and obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, type 2 diabetes, and prediabetes over video visits using evidence-based medicine and document visits to share with a multidisciplinary team.
What will I do?Evaluate and manage patients with hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, prediabetes, overweight, and obesity using evidence-based and patient-centered medicine.
Complete at least 32-hours synchronous video visits with Miga patients per week.
Prepare for visits by reading chart notes from the rest of a patient’s multidisciplinary team (including a registered dietitian and health coach) so that other team members’ recommendations can be reinforced during visits.
Clearly and concisely document video visits within 24 hours in a charting template so that the rest of the multidisciplinary team understands the content of the visits.
Order and interpret labs and other diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and interpret home monitoring data (e.g., weight, blood pressure).
Maintain high scores ( >4/5) on process, quality, and patient satisfaction metrics.
Communicate with patients asynchronously using our provider app.
Refer patients internally to registered dietitians and health coaches.
Coordinate and communicate care plans with external medical providers, including primary care providers and specialists.
Participate in weekly clinical meetings, educational sessions, and broader team meetings.
Use and adapt to multiple technological platforms.
We are looking for NPs with:
Multiple active state licenses, with a preference for one of those licenses in Texas.
3 years of experience in primary care (family practice or internal medicine), Cardiology, or Endocrinology.
Ideal candidates will be:
Patient-centered clinicians who are excited to spend the majority of their working time delivering clinical care via video visits.
Passionate about and experienced in cardiometabolic health and evidence-based medicine.
Efficient, clear, and concise at communicating with patients and other team members.
Excited to work on a multidisciplinary team with physicians, other APPs, registered dietitians, and health coaches;
Technically adept and willing to learn and work in multiple new technology platforms; and
Team players who are adaptive to change in a rapidly growing and iterating organization backed by a supportive team and culture.
