Position Summary:In this position, you will work closely with the hoopla Digital content team, as well as the International Sales team to develop impactful programming and merchandising for Librarians and their patrons located outside of the U.S. You will play a key role in the delivery of the hoopla experience and the expansion of hoopla to additional international markets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning about and understanding the differences of International Public Libraries, market cultures and be conversant in Publishing, Video, Music, and/or Library industries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this position successfully, an individual must fulfill the knowledge, skill, and/or ability requirements listed below:
  • Serve as in-house market “expert” for our targeted markets for expansion. This includes general industry knowledge, awareness of current trends, popular authors, key releases, trending genres and competitors specific to those markets.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to identify titles for promotion via in-app placements, social media, email, and other channels.
  • Work to build out other international channels as needed.
  • Will be responsible for developing key marketing materials for library, patron, and vendor messaging.
  • Direct and partner with design team on creating promotional assets to ensure messaging and overall superior quality of images that reflect the hoopla brand.
  • Work with digital acquisition team to identify important titles, authors, vendors needed to support those markets.
  • Seek opportunities to drive sales and improve overall quality of the category – both by working with external vendors and across internal departments.
  • Foster a highly collaborative partnership with the International Sales team to support key business initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Leverage data to evaluate the performance of titles, vendors, genres, promotions, and overall trends.
  • Serve as the company liaison for select vendors and support digital acquisitions as needed on other vendor accounts to identify and procure high value titles.
  • Provide recommendations for, execute and track promotions that will drive incremental sales.
    • This individual should be able to think creatively to contribute engaging ideas for collections and different types of campaigns.
  • Collaborate with team on events for potential Library, Patron, and Vendor touch points (e.g. trade shows, festivals, panels, sponsorships) to support business objectives.
Other specific tasks may include:
  • Research titles and vendors for customer requests and collection growth.
  • Direct the maintenance of online title/new release calendar.
  • Research and maintain calendar of events, anniversaries, award shows and annual timelines.
  • Delegate tasks and projects within department.
Skills:
  • Basic Computer skills, including Microsoft Teams/Office, Outlook & Adobe.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently as needed and collaborate effectively with teams when required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to read/review publications for relevant information.
  • Must have good research skills.
  • Organizational skills
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Experience:
  • 4-6 years in professional environment
  • Digital content and/or marketing experience
