Midwest Salt is a logistics company that just happens to sell salt. This is a newly created position where the first responsibility would be to influence the selection our new operating systems to streamline our business. The person in this role will have direct impact into our success.

Position Summary:

The Business Systems Manager (BSM) manages, plans, directs, and monitors business and program processes, monitors KPI’s, analyzes internal and external data to confirm current direction, recommends change(s) when needed, and drives effectiveness across organization for customers, vendors, and other stakeholders. BSM functions as MWS’s data interpreter and frontline communicator. BSM serves as the manager and power user of MWS ERP and other operational systems, ensuring continuity and optimization throughout MWS. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Major Responsibilities/Activities and Work Performed:

• Provides visionary leadership to Midwest Salt and preserves MWS’s most valuable asset, its culture.
• Interfaces cross-functionally to understand the needs and objectives of the business.
• Reviews and analyzes existing systems and develops strategies for improvement.
• Seeks and works with vendors and business partners to implement quality technology solutions.
• Analyzes complex data sets, identifies shortcomings or opportunities, develops metrics, and works with leadership and team members to implement changes and countermeasures.
• Streamlines data systems at MWS to reduce burden of updating, reduce redundancies, and make data more accessible to staff.
• Documents and trains on systems processes from a business user’s perspective.
• Creates and maintains tools for organizing data assets. (Knowledge Management)
• Seeks outside industry knowledge and data resources to integrate with MWS data as a means of monitoring changing industry dynamics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
