Midwest Petroleum operates 58 stores within a 150-mile radius that employs approximately 600 employees. Midwest Petroleum markets fuel through the ZX, Conoco, and Phillips 66 brands.

Position Summary

Assist Store Manager in managing assigned store while maximizing potential sales and profitability. Ensure compliance of company policies and procedures. In the absence of the Store Manager will assume their responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Must be proficient at Sales Associate position
  • Provide customers with a shopping experience that exceeds their expectations and inspires them to shop with Midwest Petroleum again and again
  • Handle all customer complaints quickly and efficiently to assure customer satisfaction
  • Be familiar with and follow all company policies and procedures
  • Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations
  • Maintain a safe store environment; follow all safety policies and procedures which include reporting all employee or customer incidents in a timely manner
  • Implement company merchandising promotions and sales plans to achieve maximum sales and profit
  • Maintain an adequate store inventory through proper ordering, pricing, security procedures and check-in/check-out of vendors
  • Keep money secure at all times making sure that all employees know and follow cash control policies
  • Help train new staff members
  • Along with any other tasks management provides you with

Essential Skills Required

Able to perform the day to day functions when the manager is out. Those in this position must provide leadership skills, time management.

Environmental Factors

This position is performed within an environment of frequent exposure to general office equipment, beverage equipment, coolers , and any other site specific equipment/factors. You could also encounter exposure to hazardous materials and loud noises. Also, able to work outside of the office while traveling. And work in different Midwest Petroleum Stations.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, bend and reach
  • The employee will frequently be required to lift, push or pull weight of at least 5 to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to drive for extended periods of time in varied conditions
  • Must work under pressure for periods of time
  • Must be able to handle inconveniences or problems that arise from certain projects
  • Must be able to meet departmental deadlines and follow the directives of immediate supervisor
