The Sioux Falls office of Midwest Petroleum Equipment is looking for a Warehouse/Yard Specialist. This position will be responsible for repairing and servicing tanker trucks and company fleet vehicles, as well as fabricating custom pipe orders. Applicants must be self-starters that can operate independently with minimal supervision. The perfect candidate is the kind of person who naturally pays close attention to the details and double-checks their work. What the Warehouse/Yard Specialist will be responsible for:

• Maintaining physical appearance of equipment yard, shop, and warehouse.
• Removing snow and maintaining of facility.
• Assisting in maintaining and servicing construction equipment and vehicle fleet.
• Assisting with loading and unloading of service and transportation trucks.
• Developing and directing the flow of yard traffic including shipping and receiving.
• Assisting Inside Sales and Parts Associate in staging parts for construction and service orders.
• Devising and implementing procedures for daily warehouse operations consistent with company guidelines.
• Working closely with management to recognize and develop or correct operational problems and or issues.
• Directing and maintaining receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.
• Directing all incoming and outgoing material shipments
• Ensuring that materials in the warehouse/yard are organized and maintained in an effective manner.
• Managing movement and transfers of materials, spot check inventory on a regular basis.
• Organizing and maintaining the warehouse & yard layout for maximum efficiency and safe operations.
• Inspecting condition and quantity of received materials before placing them in the warehouse.
• Properly placing and denoting received materials in correct locations.
• Labeling and storing all non-stock items.
• Completing cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Loading and unloading vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Verifying product descriptions, condition, amounts, and nomenclature.
• Reconciling printed tickets to stock.
• Accurately completing paperwork (Pick Tickets, Inventory Count Sheets, etc.)
• Moving materials in yard and warehouse as needed.
• Maintaining cleanliness and neatness of warehouse and yard.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

What skills or qualifications do they need to have?

• Ability to operate company forklift. Certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to do physically demanding work included but not limited to pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, etc.
• High level of attention to detail and urgency.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

The Warehouse/Yard Specialist position is full-time, working Monday through Friday during normal business hours. This position is based in Sioux Falls, SD. We are offering $20-24 per hour as the starting wage for this position.
