Ready to join? We are looking for a full-time Assistant Office Coordinator to join our rehabilitation team. The position will be based at the Chicago, IL (South Loop) outpatient facility. The Assistant Office Coordinator serves as the liaison between MOR and our patients. The individual facilitates communication with patients, clinicians, physicians, insurance companies, the billing department and work comp adjusters. The individual must provide professional, friendly and compassionate service to all patients and staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Scheduling and registration of patients
Collecting copayments, self pay and DME payments
Serves as the liaison between insurance companies, patients, clinical staff and billing
Maintains patient confidentiality with regard to medical records per company policies and procedures and assures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
Communicates well in a professional setting
Supports the Office Coordinator in sharing daily function responsibilities, communicating any questions, changes or updates
Obtains pre-approval and schedules Function Capacity Evaluations and verifies insurance
Respond to patient inquiries and needs in a polite and timely manner
Effectively use and maintain office equipment
Performs administrative duties/special projects as assigned
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
Strong background in providing excellent customer service skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and coverage preferred.
Prior medical experience, preferably in PT clinic.
Work well in a team atmosphere and have a strong sense of leadership skills.
