ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Learn company business: methods of installation, type of work and contracts, customers, suppliers, vendors, markets, terminology, equipment basics, hydraulic and electrical basics, etc.
• Assist estimating department in the following areas:
  • Make paper and digital files for jobs that are bidding.
  • Filing
  • General administration
  • Prepare job hand off forms for operations.
  • Take off plans and specifications.
  • Plot test bores
  • Maintain up to date bid board and calendar.
  • Attend pre bid meetings as necessary.
  • Deliver bid packages as necessary.
  • Assist in bid paperwork for GC bids.
  • Pick up bonds.
  • Maintain plan holders lists for every project.
  • Assist estimator in pricing material and subcontractors.
  • Procure quotes for insurance and bonding.
  • Order/make copies of plans and specifications.
  • Search specific websites for work and manage Plandesk email.
  • Attend company functions as required where we have a booth - work the booth.
  • Assist in answering phones as needed.
• Other duties as requested by the Senior Estimator.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent computer skills and extensive knowledge using Word and Excel.
• Effective communication, writing and organizational skills.
• Be a self-starter and be able to manage workload and priorities and work independently.
• Be of high integrity.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work in a drug-free environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Approximately 90% of the position will work from the local office.
• Approximately 10% of the position will require travel.
• Some lifting up to 20lbs. is required.
