Job Responsibilities:
· Create full sets of casework shop drawings based on company standards and architectural blueprints to develop shop drawings in AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision to submit to the customer.
· Drawings include floor plans, elevation views, section views and isometric views along with custom details as needed.
· Self-check own work for completeness, accuracy, compliance to standards, and specifications.
· Update drawings once colors and field dimensions are known. Request information as needed from general contractors. Field measure jobs as required.
· Coordinate with shop personnel, and shop foreman on the best methods of manufacturing. Incorporate this information into shop drawing designs (i.e., reception center sections, cabinet sizes/incremental sizes, material sizes, hardware functions).
· Create production support documentation (i.e., cut lists, assembly sheets, part labels, bill of materials, shipping lists, CNC programs, etc.) to be sent to shop floor for production.
· Monitor job through production to ensure that it is manufactured correctly. Re-program software as necessary to accommodate variations in manufacturing.
· Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on individual’s experience and interests.
Required Skills:
· High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree in Construction or Engineering preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings/blueprints.
· Auto/CAD millwork drafting experience required.
· Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office Suite including intermediate Excel skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Time management skills and ability to problem solve in order to create detailed architectural drawings.
· Strong understanding of shop construction techniques and CNC programming.
