MIDWEST EYE CLINIC is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Monroe, MI

```Job Summary```
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists in providing exceptional eye care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing diagnostic tests, gathering patient history, and providing support during eye examinations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and possess excellent communication skills.

```Duties```
- Perform preliminary tests on patients, such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception tests
- Gather patient history and document relevant information
- Assist ophthalmologists during eye examinations and surgical procedures
- Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the physician
- Conduct diagnostic tests, including tonometry, visual field testing, and optical coherence tomography (OCT)
- Educate patients on proper eye care and contact lens use
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

```Qualifications```
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred
- Previous experience working in an ophthalmology or optometry setting is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical billing and coding is a plus
