Job Title: Certified Pharmacy Tech - Retail

Job Summary:

The Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Technician works with the pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care for all patients at Midway Specialty Care RX. The Pharmacy Technician will perform all functions under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Duties include being responsible for the day-to-day compliance with the 340B program and inventory management, works with pharmacists, administrators and physicians to provide cost effective service and ensure availability of medication.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Enters data and prescription orders into pharmacy computer.

· Prepares medications for dispensing under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

· Responsible for ordering medications as specified by MSCC SOP.

· Reviews purchasing invoices, credits and dispensing reports for accuracy.

· Efficiently manages multiple inventory groups by utilizing the correct accounts.

· Receives incoming calls from internal and external customers.

· Communicates with patients regarding prescription status.

· Effectively resolves third party rejections and claims issues.

· Submits prior authorization requests to medical offices and assists with approvals.

· Accurately prepares packages for mailing or delivery; knowledge of USPS, Fed Ex processes.

· Assists pharmacist with removing expired medications from inventory and preparing for reverse distribution or disposal.

· Responsible for assisting with in-house pharmacy billing and claims resolution.

· Delivers prescriptions to patients and medical offices.

· Consistently documents encounters in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

· All other duties deemed necessary by supervision to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.

Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

· H.S. Diploma or GED

· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

· Well-developed verbal/written communication skills

· Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.

· Self-motivated and highly productive with excellent organizational ability.

· Ability to analyze information and explain conclusions to stakeholders.

· Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with growth and change.

· A fast learner. Able to pick up new tasks and provide feedback for process simplification.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Current licensure in the State of Florida as a Pharmacy Technician

· Minimum of one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician

· 340B University Certificate.

· Associate’s degree.
