Midstate Manufacturing Company is Hiring a Quality Control Inspector Near Galesburg, IL

Summary: Tests and inspects completed products and compiles and evaluates statistical data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying General Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, and material characteristics.
  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related previous experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blue prints, spec sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
