Midnight Oil (moagency.com) , strategically located in "the heart of Hollywood" in Burbank, CA, is an extraordinary creative, and specialty print production partner to the majority of theatrical and streaming studios, with relationships often measured in terms of decades, not years. We uniquely and conveniently combine our Studio and Print Production capabilities all under one roof in our 120,000 square feet facility, with an Amtrak stop and the Burbank Airport directly across the street. Position Summary : The Jr. Production Artist will provide project support to the internal pre-media team. Responsible for preparing files for internal and external manufacturing at the expected level of quality.
Work Location: Onsite at our Burbank, CA office.
Shift: 2nd Shift - 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $19-$20/hourly
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Follow company Security Policy and Asset Management protocols
• Follow direction by way of production assembly ticket instructions
• Entering and editing of production assembly ticket instructions
• Adhere to job schedule and time keeping procedures.
• Preflight client files
• Troubleshoot and solve file issues as they relate to desktop publishing and printing.
• Perform various upload and download tasks.
• Perform proofing outputs and rule ups.
• Adhere to ongoing and established Quality Assurance procedures.
• Sending PDF emails for job approvals
• Continual training to maintain a skill level that is above what is needed
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Art/Design School Graduate
• 0-1 years professional prepress experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diverse understanding of the graphic arts industry as it applies to pre-media, offset, litho/silkscreen printing, large format digital printing, retail display and new technologies.
• Ultimate client satisfaction mentality and approach
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive approach to identify and solve problems before they arise
• Ability to work in a team environment and support the team when time permits.

• Proficient in Creative Adobe Suite Illustrator / Photoshop / Indesign / Acrobat, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other peripherals such as Pit Stop, Suitcase (font management), FTP software (CyberDuck), VNC, and EPSON printers
• Understanding of Variable Data processing is a plus
• Possess overall exceptional computer skills

The national pay range for this role is $19-20/an hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
