Midlothian Dental Center is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Midlothian, VA

Midlothian Dental Center is growing and in need of a Dental Assistant to join our team and bring excellent patient care to the community. We are a modern, digital, well established office in the heart of Midlothian. The perfect candidate is enthusiastic, thorough, and has a great work ethic! Responsibilities

  • Greeting and dismissing patients
  • Assist general dentists with various procedures
  • Maintain sterilization areas
  • Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
  • Monitor supplies
  • Prepare and clean patient operatory
  • Review patient medical history and update accordingly
  • Able to explain recommended treatment to patient
  • Communication between doctor and front office for future treatment needs
  • Anticipate dentist needs by providing assistance chairside
  • Assist in the administration of Nitrous Oxide
  • Prepare patient for examination and/or treatment

Required Skills

  • X-ray certification (proficient in full mouth and panoramic xrays)
  • Proficient in taking impressions
  • Proficient in making temporaries (crown and multi-unit)
  • Experience with digital scanning (iTero) preferred
  • Sedation certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
  • Strong computer skills required
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. OSHA, HIPAA)
  • Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
  • Proficient in pre- and post-op patient instructions
  • Ability to work with multiple doctors
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding of common insurance coverages and requirements preferred
  • CPR certification required
