Job Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history reviews, physical examinations, and neurological evaluations.
Develop and implement patient treatment plans in collaboration with the supervising physician, focusing on neurology, pain management, and internal medicine.
Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures, nerve blocks, and trigger point injections under the supervision of the physician.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including MRIs, CT scans, and laboratory tests.
Provide patient education regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with state regulations and office policies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and pharmacists, to optimize patient care.
Participate in continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Stay abreast of developments in neurology, pain management, and internal medicine through ongoing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in South Carolina.
Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Previous experience in neurology, pain management, or internal medicine preferred.
Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to perform thorough physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests accurately.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions under the supervision of a physician.
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
