Position Summary:

The Mental Health/Behavioral Security Technician works in harmonywith the nursing staff to provide care for our patients. They monitor patients that are deemed byhospital staff to qualify for inpatient treatment services. The Mental Health/Behavioral SecurityTechnician ensures the safety of patients and those in proximity. In addition, the Mental Health/BehavioralSecurity Technician is responsible for:

• Monitoring patient interactions, safety, andproviding therapeutic assistance
• Monitors equipment, the environment, andensures potentially dangerous conditions are mitigated immediately
• Uses verbal and physical techniques tode-escalate or intervene during crisis
• Assists with maintaining medical records
• Provides clerical support
• Direct patient care
• Assists in patient data collection
• Performs medical procedures under thedirection of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent required
• Current, valid CPR/BLS Certification
• Minimum of one-year experience working directly with the mentally ill and/or substance addicted population (preferred)
• Reliable transportation required
