Midland States Bank is Hiring a Regional Market President Near Dixon, IL

At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K plan with company match and may include the opportunity to participate in our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Incentives and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.

Position Summary


The Regional Market President is responsible for cultivating, leading, and managing relationships within the assigned market to build brand awareness, generate leads, drive consistent revenue, and expand shareholder value. The Regional Market President is the chief community liaison in the market and is expected to deliver results through partnerships with business leaders, non-profits, community/economic development entities, and government and non-government organizations. As the leader in the assigned market, the Regional Market President will foster consistent teamwork within their team and across all business lines for both sales and operations.

Primary Accountabilities

Sales:

  • Individually generates a minimum of $300,000 to $500,000 in revenue annually.
  • Lead sales for the assigned market utilizing a team approach.
  • Establishes sales goals and strategies and assesses performance against set goals for the assigned market.
  • Meet or exceed individual and team volume/production and profitability goals for the assigned market.
  • Formulate and expand business development activities within the market through aggressive marketing involving pro-active contact with existing customers and prospects.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM for effective pipeline and lead management for individual and team production.

Market Leadership:

  • Lead in a high-visibility capacity in the community to further enhance the bank’s image and develop additional business for deposit and loan activities.
  • Ensure effective representation for key events in the assigned market and evaluate the bank’s return on investment.
  • Assist and lead the development of comprehensive planning for all clients and prospects in the assigned market, working intricately with other business lines to grow and maintain relationships.
  • Oversee and manage the market financials on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Work with other lines of business at Midland to enhance interest and non-interest income and core customer relationships.
  • Minimum of 25 hours per year in community leadership involvement that directly enhances business opportunities for the Bank and supports the Bank’s initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  • Attracts, motivates, and conducts coaching and performance management activities with employees.
  • Conducts check-ins and huddles regularly with employees.
  • Direct and oversee the production and business development activities of commercial lenders in the assigned market.
  • Assist and lead the team to effectively manage bank clients, conducting well planned joint calls.
  • Oversees and facilitates the development of banking relationships by guiding staff and acting as a resource to the team.
  • Plays a significant role in attracting and retaining talent in the assigned market.

Other:

  • Analyzes financial data, structures and negotiate transactions, and performs on-going maintenance/administrative items.
  • The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
  • May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Position Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree Finance, Business, Accounting, or other related business field or comparable experience.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive responsibility in a bank with a focus in sales.
    • Minimum 10 years direct leadership experience.
    • Proven ability to originate and manage a diverse portfolio of relationships.
    • Ability to contribute to the overall strategy, culture, and financial success of the company with specific expertise in strategic planning and execution.
    • Ability to manage employees across multiple locations.
    • Demonstrated technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Extensive knowledge and expertise on loan, deposit, and treasury products.
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
    • Strong sales and customer service skills.
    • Significant knowledge of the assigned market.
    • Proven success of meeting or exceeding goals for the last three years.
    • Strong overall background in Retail banking, Wealth Management, Commercial Real Estate or Commercial and Industrial lending, Treasury Management, or Specialized Credits.
