Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting our dental professionals in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include dental receptionist duties, patient assessment, assisting during dental procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques, taking X-rays, managing medical records, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and open dental software
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for dental procedures
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments
- Take and develop dental X-rays
- Perform dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Prepare materials for dental procedures
- Ensure the proper disposal of hazardous materials
- Manage medical records and update patient information
- Utilize open dental software for designing dental restorations
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Proficient in taking dental X-rays and operating related equipment
- Familiarity with medical coding and recordkeeping systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Knowledge of open dental software is a plus
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program is preferred
- BLS
