Midland Mortgage, a division of MidFirst Bank, is looking for a Senior Technical Writer who can help us author, organize, and maintain highly technical information and transform it into usable content for internal audiences. A Senior Technical Writer is someone who loves to communicate complex concepts in a clear and efficient manner. Someone who loves bringing order to chaos. Someone who can ask the right questions and get the right details from highly specialized and very busy people. Someone who is comfortable with change and excited about creative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: As a Senior Technical Writer within the Strategic Messaging Department, you will help us:

• Evaluate legacy documentation and restructure it according to our internal Documentation Architecture and Style Guide.
• Build, maintain, and grow our Help Centers (internal knowledge bases).
• Participate in projects to optimize documentation standards or support company initiatives by collaborating with other cross-functional teams.
• Manage and coach a team of Technical Writers to optimize the completion of the tasks above.

Position Requirements

1. You have a Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or related field (English, Journalism, Business Administration) and a minimum of 5 years of applicable professional experience.
2. You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
3. You have excellent analytical skills.
4. You are exceptionally organized and have experience in project management.
5. You know how to successfully collaborate with SMEs.
6. You are proficient in structuring and writing content according to established Standards.
7. You are proficient with diagramming tools (we use Visio) and image editing tools (we use Snagit).
8. You have at least 2 years of management experience.
9. You have at least 2 years of experience using HTML/XML and CSS and their related editors (we use MadCap Flare).
10. You know JavaScript (preferred).
