The Eureka Product Testing Laboratory Technician is responsible for the R&D activities related to cleaning product testing and evaluation to meet the needs of the consumer. The Laboratory technician is responsible for maintaining a strong communication link between the product design teams and the Lab Manager. It is important that the Laboratory Technician can develop technical knowledge of system/sub-system level testing. The Technician should have the ability to influence all levels of the organization, maintain and develop lab processes and procedures to ensure product compliance standards to ensure the continuous improvement and efficiency of each laboratory. The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for laboratory maintenance and calibration, as well as participating in innovation sessions, root cause analysis and will participate in and work on mechanical design projects as required by the team.
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Lead in performance and safety testing of cleaning appliances and prototypes according to project schedules.
  • Help develop maintenance, operating and test procedures for both lab equipment and to evaluate cleaning products.
  • Work closely with design teams and laboratory manager to ensure test procedures are compliant to regulatory standards and internal quality processes.
  • Partner with product technical experts to ensure test parameters correlate with customer expectations.
  • Organize test data and reports using LIMS system. Collaborate with engineers to analyze test data and provide recommendations and opinions.
  • Champion continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the management and maintenance of testing equipment, test rigs and lab consumables.
  • Contribute to the development of cleaning product innovation.
  • Actively participate in technical project reviews: particularly Service, Safety, and Installation reviews.
  • Work cross functionally with various internal and external engineering groups to collaborate on project work.
  • Implement projects and special assignments as required.
  • Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Foster a culture of learning and knowledge exchange within the lab.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
Qualifications
  • High School GED and above.
  • Over 3 years of experience in performance and safety regulation testing in the cleaning field or related areas.
  • Familiarity with the cleaning industry's testing standards, working principles of robotic vacuum cleaners, performance testing standards, and related technical requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable about the control principles of cleaning appliances and possesses strong data analysis skills.
  • Proficient in operating various testing instruments and equipment, with the ability to modify and optimize testing equipment.
  • Proficient in laboratory safety standards.
  • Able to communicate with, or open to working with, colleagues whose native language is not English.
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
