Middlesex School is Hiring a Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admissions Near Concord, MA

Middlesex School seeks a Director of Financial Aid & Associate Director of Admissions beginning in the 2024-2025 School year. For more information on Middlesex and to apply for this position, please visit our careers page.

Middlesex School seeks a permanent Full-time Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admissions for the 2024-25 academic year. Reporting to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, the new hire will join a highly collaborative Admissions team that aspires to enroll a diverse and talented student body. Previous financial aid experience is preferable, though the school will consider other applicants who have strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, sensitivity to dealing with prospective families and confidential information, and advanced project management capabilities. The Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admissions is charged with assessing financial need and determining need-based awards for prospective and returning families. Working within school budget constraints, the Director of Financial Aid oversees a small group of colleagues in this assessment and consults with the Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid on the strategic allocation of financial aid grants. In addition, the Director Financial Aid oversees the administration of an expense budget provided to ensure an equitable experience for lower-income families.

As an Associate Director of Admissions, the position also includes interviewing, travel, and applicant assessment as part of the Admissions Committee, and other projects as assigned. The typical admission officer interviews approximately 160-180 applicants a year; travels in and out of state for roughly three weeks; reads 400 applications a year; and manages or assists with a variety of office tasks and projects. Saturdays are required when school is in session, and there are occasional required Admission Office or School evening events.

As a residential school, Middlesex considers the work of faculty more broadly. When we are at our best, we are engaging with our students both in and out of the classroom. Applicants should be deeply committed to embracing and supporting the diversity of our student body. Faculty members at Middlesex may be responsible for weekly evening and occasional weekend supervisory duties. They may also be responsible for contributing to the life of the school through athletics and extracurricular activities. Competitive salary and benefits, including a strong professional development program, will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Middlesex School is committed to bringing together a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. We encourage candidates who represent the broad, diverse community to which we aspire.

Middlesex School is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to an inclusive school experience for all.
