Psychiatrist - Full-Time for Young Adult Services and Adult Outpatient programs

Join an expanding team of physicians, APRNs, and mental health clinicians who are dedicated to Middlesex Health’s mission of providing the highest quality of mental health care and the best possible patient experience. The staff psychiatrist will collaborate with a group of physicians, APRNs, RNs, and clinicians to provide ongoing treatment in an outpatient setting dedicated to supporting patients with their recovery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in both of our Young Adult Services and Adult Outpatient programs. Teaching opportunities are also available as we partner with Middlesex Health Family Residents, Yale, and The University of Connecticut. 

Responsibilities of this position include: 

• Performs psychiatric evaluations and consultations for patients in Mental Health Services and other service areas as required 

• Assumes overall clinical responsibility for assigned patients in outpatient mental health and other necessary service areas

• Responsible for assigned on call protocol for the department 

• Completes all hospital and regulatory requirements by the deadline given 

• Provides coverage to colleagues as needed 

• Develops clinical expertise and programs appropriate to patient and community needs 

• Adheres to all Core Values

This position is eligible for Student Loan Repayment through the National Health Service Corps. 

The compensation is highly competitive and benefits are excellent including matching retirement plan. Call responsibilities are minimal.

Minimum Requirements:

• Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible

• Clinical experience or interest in working with young adults is required
