Description

­­­­­­­Under the supervision of the Family Director, this position provides a safe, developmentally appropriate program for children of many age groups.

This position assists children with crafts, coloring, fun activities both inside and outside including swimming in our fun pool. Ensure that 

children are safe by actively participating in group activities and supervising at all times. 

Qualifications

1. Two years college education or two years of experience working with children of the proper age preferred.
2. Skill and/or certification in teaching crafts, songs, stories, games, sports, aquatics and related camp activities.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to exercise sensitivity dealing with individuals of diverse socio-economic backgrounds, cognitive and physical levels.
5. Have an understanding of development characteristics of children of various ages.
6. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
7. Must meet all pre-employment requirements including: criminal background investigation as required.
8. Certifications required within 90 days of hire: CPR/AED, First Aid and Safe schools.
9. Understand and be committed to the YMCA mission and character development.
