Mid-West New Mexico Community Action Program is Hiring a Teacher Assistant Near Grants, NM

Under the supervision of the classroom teacher:

  • provides materials and equipment which will be stimulating to the children’s’ interests.
  • provides experiences in a classroom environment that represents a variety of cultural, ethnic, and diverse populations and is reflective of the families and children that we serve.
  • encourages parents, volunteers in the classrooms and provides developmentally appropriate activities that build parent-child relationships at home
  • assists the teacher in maintaining accurate records necessary for proper operation of the classroom.
  • .MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Citizen of the United States or have legal papers to work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must submit to and pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal background check.
  • Upon hire, must complete a 45-hour course and then must work towards a Child Development Associate certification or a Child Development Certification to be completed within 2 years from the date of hire. (These are on-line classes paid by the company).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $19.95 per hour
