Restorative Nursing Aide | Fayetteville, Tennessee | Full-Time

Mid South is hiring two (2) Restorative Nursing Aides to join our TEAM at a skilled nursing facility in Fayetteville, Tennessee. This position works cooperatively with the nursing care TEAM and consults with the rehab therapy TEAM.

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare environment preferred
• Must have completed a formal course of training in basic nursing skills (Certified Nursing Assistant) and advanced training in specialized restorative nursing aide competencies needed to care for restorative nursing patients.
• Must possess excellent organizational, time management, and leadership abilities
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Nature, Scope, and Principal Job Responsibilities:

• Assists in the transporting of patients for restorative treatment appointments.
• Assists in the performance, maintenance, and uploading of patient documentation into the Health Information Management System.
• Maintain proper and timely patient medical files.
• Sanitize and clean restorative equipment between patient use and daily.
• Maintains good working relationship with facility(s) staff/customer(s).
• Must have the ability to provide related bedside resident care services as per facility policy and procedures.
• Follows company expectations regarding HIPAA/Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
• Restorative Nursing Aide Services include:
  • range of motion (passive)
  • range of motion (active)
  • splint or brace application/removal
  • skill practice of designated activities
  • bed mobility
  • transfer
  • walking
  • dressing or grooming
  • follow through with established safe swallow strategies
  • self-feeding/use of established adapted utensils etc.
  • routine amputation/prosthesis care
  • communication
  • continuous passive motion (CMP) (not initial setup or changes to settings)
  • promotes patient’s ability to adapt to and adjust to living as independently as possible
  • instructs patient in self-care activities according to the established plan and patient’s abilities
  • instructs patient in the use of assistive devices (established by therapist) for transferring, walking and mobility, dressing and grooming, eating, and swallowing
  • instructs patient in positioning in bed and chair
  • follow through with established methods of care and use of prosthetic and orthotic devices with the patient
  • incorporates skill practice activities which include repetition, physical or verbal cueing, and task segmentation
  • document participation and objective status toward established goals
