Mid-sized non-profit organization in Milwaukee is Hiring a Grant Writer Near Milwaukee, WI

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Grant Writer will identify and coordinate the development, writing and submission of grant proposals to third party entities.The position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by third party public and private sources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Generates proposals and supporting documents

Generates revenue for agency programs

Maintains and implements funding calendar activities, including cultivation activities

Writes reports to government, corporate, foundation and other funders

Acts as liaison with the program staff

Identifies funding opportunities in program areas

Serves as liaison to funding organizations/agencies

Special projects as needed

Engages with other officers at organizations to solicit information and to submit proposals


QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or have worked in related discipline with a minimum of five years of related experience and a proven track record in grant writing.Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.Should possess excellent writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Word, Access PowerPoint and Excel.Highly organized with ability to implement systems and follow up processes, able to work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints.Proven track record in seeking new funding opportunities for special programs.
