Salary Range: $51,990 - $108,935 Annually based on degree and experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engaging Instructional Strategies:
- Develop and implement creative and interactive lesson plans that complement traditional teaching methods.
- Utilize various instructional strategies, such as hands-on activities, group discussions, and real-world applications, to engage students in the learning process.
- Foster a student-centered learning environment where students actively participate in constructing their own understanding of mathematical concepts.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration among students.
- Recognize and address diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of individual students and promote an inclusive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the math curriculum.
- Integrate innovative teaching resources, technology, and real-world examples to make mathematical concepts more tangible and culturally relevant for students.
- Implement formative assessment strategies to gauge student understanding in real-time.
- Use assessment data to adjust teaching methods and provide targeted support to students who may be struggling.
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote a respectful and collaborative learning environment.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in mathematics education.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and contribute to the overall success of the math department.
- Help determine budget needs and purchase equipment and materials for courses taught.
- Frequently publish formative and summative assessment reports to parents, students, and administration which adhere to the school’s assessment guidelines and philosophies. Carry out all homeroom / advisory responsibilities as determined by the student activities coordinator, college counselors, and/or class advisors.
- Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace.
- Comply with the instructions given for their own safety and health and that of others, in adhering to safe work procedures.
- Take reasonable care to ensure their own safety and health and that of others.
- Report any injury, hazard or illness immediately to their Supervisor and Human Resources.
- Not place others at risk by any act or omission, not willfully or recklessly interfere with safety equipment.
- Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors.
- Identify, assess if necessary, and control hazards within the area of responsibility.
- Ensure that equipment/supplies are properly maintained.
- Maintain relevant knowledge of safety laws. Mandatory reporting of sexual abuse to law enforcement or child protective services, and Human Resources. Sexual abuse includes child molestation, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with a minor, and serial sexual misconduct, any actual or alleged illegal or otherwise wrongful sexual conduct with more than one victim; and committed by or alleged to have been committed by any perpetrator who is not a student of an included entity.
