DEPARTMENT: Member Services/ Membership JOB TITLE: Ocean Activities Attendant

REPORTS TO: Member Services Director/ General Membership Director

BASIC FUNCTION: Our Ocean Activities Attendant must be an adventurous, motivated, and friendly team player with a passion for being outdoors. He/she must have the ability to make smart decisions while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our membership. All Member Services personnel must provide gracious and sincere customer service while embracing Aloha in all areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet members and guests with a positive, helpful attitude while providing excellent customer service.
• Provide shuttle service for Members and guests in our street legal 6-man golf cart.
• Assist guests with the rental of kayaks, stand up paddle boards and other ocean equipment.
• Be knowledgeable about the Club’s policy regarding the use of all ocean equipment and be able to provide guests with instructions on how to use the equipment safely.
• Be available to assist members to and from their equipment on club premises.
• Ensure that ocean equipment is cleaned between rentals.
• Ensure that all equipment is properly stowed, cleaned, and secured at the end of day.
• Document any injuries or damage to equipment on an Incident Report and share the report with the manager on duty in a timely fashion.
• Evaluates weather conditions for safety and informs management of any concerns.
• Assist Member Services during downtimes by answering the telephone; transferring calls to proper extensions; and taking messages for members and staff.
• Assist with various administrative tasks including copying, creating documents, and other front desk-related duties as directed by each department head.
• Assist with any additional projects as assigned.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Frequent bending, twisting, lifting, standing, and squatting will be required.
• Must be a team player with a great attitude.
• Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.

• Must be fluent in English, reading and writing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills including both verbal and written.
• Display first-class customer service in person, through e-mail, and over the phone.

• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and have excellent multi-tasking abilities.
• Must be a person who takes pride in their work and likes to stay busy.
• This job requires responsibility for equipment so great care and attention to detail and safety is essential.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

HOURS/DAYS/COMPENSATION:

• Hours of employment will be 8:30 am-4:30 pm Wednesday-Sundays and Monday Holidays.
• Compensation is $16 per hour.
