Mid-Ohio Powersports is Hiring a Powersports Service Writer / Advisor Near Mount Vernon, OH

Mid-Ohio Powersports in Mount Vernon Ohio is looking for an experienced professional powersports service writer and advisor to join our team. This is a full time position. We offer a full package of benefits including insurance, 401K, employee discounts, vacation pay, incentive pay, and more.

Mid-Ohio Powersports has been in business for more than 50 years, and is focused on providing excellent sales and service to our customers. We are a growing, family owned, multi-line metric powersports dealership located in the heart of Ohio. Current brands include Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, CFMOTO, Royal Enfield, Artic Cat, ARGO, Kayo, Piranha, YCF, and Greenger. We carry motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. Our business hours are Tuesday through Friday 9AM-6PM, and Saturday 9AM-3PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and communicate with customers both in person and over the phone to determine their service needs, and provide recommendations for products and services.
  • Complete assessment of the service request in a timely and efficient manner, documenting customer information, requests, and needs based on details provided, and, help in communicating achievable expectations for completion of work.
  • Maintain highest customer satisfaction start to finish in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Perform multi point inspections as part of the assessment process to determine all needs for a safe and operable machine, as well as what has been requested.
  • Communicate effectively within the dealership including the sales department, the parts department, technicians, and other employees in order to complete work.
  • Provide follow-ups to customers and employees to provide status updates on service department projects.
  • Look up and input parts required for repair orders into the DMS, as well as help account for parts used or to be returned.
  • Stay up-to-date on products and services, including warranty information, recalls, and how to process and submit them.
  • Review Repair Orders to ensure work is completed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe and professional service writing area.
  • Demonstrate a high level of motivation, team work, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to achieve goals and objectives set by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Drivers license with motorcycle endorsement, plus a clean driving history (must be insurable).
  • Formal training, preferably with one of the major metric motorcycle manufacturers and/or powersports tech schools, or, provide history of experience demonstrating these levels of knowledge and skills.
  • Have the experience and skills to perform minor adjustments and repairs as part of the assessment and delivery process.
  • Have a minimum of three years of experience working in a franchised dealership setting.
  • Must have a “sales and customer service” attitude and aptitude and be able to communicate professionally with customers and staff.

  • Compensation is a blended package with base pay plus incentive based on billed hours, billed parts, and quality. Current pay bands inclusive of incentives range from $18 per hour to $27 per hour. Actual compensation offers are negotiable based on overall applicant experience, training, and work history.
