TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE (7TH/8TH GRADE)

EFFECTIVE DATE: February 7, 2022

HOURS:

2:30 - 3:30 pm; All school days except for Tuesdays

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be qualified and certified to teach in the State of Michigan and possess the necessary educational background and certification for the position as determined by the district.

Valid Michigan Teacher Certification in grades seventh through eighth.

Experience and/or training in middle level education preferred.

Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff.

Must have consistent attendance.

Prior experience working with "at-risk" children in a one-on-one setting.

Prefer prior experience teaching directed studies/study skills.

Be able to connect with students and build positive relationships.

Be able to help students stay organized.

Be able to persevere with challenging students.

Be a positive role model for "at risk" students.

Be an excellent communicator with students, parents and colleagues.

Demonstrated success in working with At-Risk-Kids.

Be flexible with children to help ensure their success.

Be open to continuous change.

Must maintain ongoing communication with students' regular teachers.

SALARY: Extended Day rate per DEA Master Agreement
