We are seeking an Occupational Therapist position to join our Outpatient Therapy department. This position is casual with no guarantee of hours per week and is eligible for a 13% pay differential in addition to the base salary in lieu of benefits. Adventist Health Columbia Gorge is located in The Dalles, Oregon. We work, live, and play in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Located 85 miles east of Portland in the majestic Columbia River Gorge, The Dalles features old-growth forests, rushing waterfalls, and year-round access to outdoor recreation, including downhill and cross-country skiing, world-class water sports, and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails. The area boasts award-winning wineries, and, most importantly, warm, friendly people.

Responsibilities

The primary function of the Occupational Therapist is to provide the highest quality occupational therapy services possible, while providing the patient a pleasant experience. Occupational Therapists help people recover their abilities to engage in activities of daily living or “occupations” in the face of health problems such as a disabling condition, surgery, or injury. The therapist recognizes that the responsibilities of this job are patient-centered, and, with that in mind she/he will organize, supervise, and provide the highest quality care to each patient. 

Qualifications

• Education:
• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health and accredited by the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Licensure/Certification:
• Has successfully completed the NBCOT national examination.
• Must be currently licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Oregon.
• Be certified or eligible for certification in the Functional Independence Measure.
• Preferably active in state OTAO and national AOTA associations.
• CPR Certification
• Experience:
• One to three years or more of clinical experience preferred.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Must be able to perform therapy techniques and procedures on the Occupational Therapy Skills List and demonstrate competence in these techniques and procedures.
• Must be able to work with and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides, as well as demonstrate capacity to work with a team approach with maturity and flexibility.
• Must have working knowledge of functions, policies, procedures, and equipment of the Physical and Occupational Therapy Department.
