These RF components, made from Aluminum, Copper and Stainless Steel, allow Scientists and Engineers to create cutting edge medical and radar systems, including extreme high power or ultra-high vacuum RF devices.

Microwave Techniques is searching for a Facilities Maintenance Technician in our Gorham, ME location.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, your role will involve executing routine maintenance tasks to uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the facilities and equipment.

You'll adhere to established maintenance schedules and guidelines, conduct inspections, repair facilities, equipment, and be backup to the facilities cleaning. 

What will you do in this role?

· Maintain and repair the Gorham facilities, equipment, and assets utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.

· Utilize the work order management system to outline your day, prioritizing Safety requests first and then evaluate remaining tickets to outline day, communicating with requestee on status. Document repair activities.

· Conduct and document regular facilities inspections, both required by OSHA and internal controls. 

· Trouble shoot and diagnose equipment issues.

· Maintain files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.

· Ensure building and grounds maintenance is performed per lease agreements. 

· Maintains entire tank process, from panel testing, chemical levels, cleaning, and record keeping. 

· Point person for expired chemicals and disposal process. 

· Executes hazardous waist disposal, from collecting, to manifest to coordinating disposal. 

· Point contact with Portland Water District. 

· Register and maintain vehicles. 

· Support departments as needed in repairs, preventive maintenance and solving workstation requirements, like building tables at the correct height. 

· Maintains compressed air, forklifts, vacuum system, electricians, and HVAC techs as needed. Prepare facilities and equipment for winter weather. 

· Responsible for snow removal at door entrances, at both facilities prior to start of business and during the workday. 

· Snow blow the walkway between both facilities. 

What do you need to be successful?

· Previous experience in a similar role of 3-5 years. 

· Work safely, be quality minded and openly communicate.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

· Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.

· Ability to troubleshoot, evaluate and identify facility needs, fix as needed and raise to next level when out of scope. 

· Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.

· Works well under a team/collaborative environment.

· Ability to communicate status to managers and to answer employee questions in a calm manner.

Physical Requirements 

· Ability to maintain regular work hours. 

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 

· Ability to stand, kneel and sit for long periods of time. 

· Must be able to move from building to building. 

· Have no restriction in working in both cold and warm environments. 

· Be able to work outside throughout the year.

General office hours are 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
