Microsoft Legal Department is Hiring a Remote Site Reliability Engineer

Job Duties

Microsoft Corporation has the following job opportunity: 

Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Monitor or test systems and integration functions. Improve service availability, latency, scalability, performance, and efficiency of Microsoft technologies. Streamline production state, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning. Apply a holistic approach across user and server dependencies to optimize functionality of Microsoft services. Identify and deliver software improvements that drive deployment, minimize customer escalations, and establish best practices. May develop code, scripts, systems, or tools that reduce operational burden by automating complex and repetitive tasks, enable product engineering teams to increase the velocity at which they can safely deploy changes to production, and monitor the effects of changes across systems, services, or products. Telecommuting permitted less than 50% per week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.

Minimum Requirements

-Education: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

-Experience: 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in systems or a software engineering role building technical services and infrastructure solutions.

-Specific Skills: Experience must include 60 months of experience in each of the following: Networking; Web Services; Containers/Docker; Cloud Development/Management; OAuth/Identity; Managing software or business processes for operations, systems, projects, tools or policies; Distributed Systems; .Net Framework; Scripting; and SDLC.

-Telecommuting permitted less than 50% per week within same geographic location as assigned Microsoft office location.

Pay Range and Benefits Information

The offered base pay range for this specific position (EG2367547a), in Redmond, WA, is $220,559 to $250,559 per year.

Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Microsoft certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
