As a System Validation SW Development Engineer in the NVEG Managed NAND Engineering Group at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for SW development in support of mNAND System Validation activities, including but not limited to development and maintenance of custom SW solutions, test script development, automation development and support, database management activities, and new system bring up within SW environments.

You will be running and configuring diagnostic software, designing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, creating custom tools, and presenting data to customers inside Micron.

You will collaborate with other engineers within mNAND System Validation, mNAND Design Engineering, Business Unit Applications Engineering, Product Engineering, and other teams throughout Micron.

What’s Encouraged Daily

  • SW Development to support mNAND System Validation
  • Study of product and customer requirements in order to verify testability
  • Design and develop SW and processes for System Validation engineering to enhance validation execution and testing capabilities to contribute to the goal of being Best in Class
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, create, validate, and modify SW that controls the end-use environment (Android smartphones, Automotive systems, Development platforms, HW tools, etc.)
  • Create, validate, and modify test scripts and code based on customer usage, new feature introduction, and new specification introduction
  • Work with system validation engineers to enable SW tool functionality with new mobile and automotive systems
  • Participate in cross-functional issue triage emanating from system validation testing
  • Interface customer diagnostics with pre-existing automation scheme
  • Analyze, compile, and communicate results

How To Qualify

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development, preferably in a Linux or Android environment
  • Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Strong programming and scripting experience in Python
  • Comfortability working and programming with Linux, SQL Databases, C , Perl, etc.
  • Experience with embedded environments, including Android, Linux, and QNX based platforms
  • Experience in the storage industry in SSD, HDD, Storage Systems, or a related technology
  • Understanding of storage interfaces, including ideally eMMC, UFS, PCIe/NVMe, SATA, or SAS
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to delegate tasks and set priorities in a team environment
  • Work experience in related field through co-op, internship, or projects is a plus
  • Course work in microelectronics, embedded design, and programming languages is desirable, but not required
