Job Description: As a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer, you will be working in a highly visible role responsible for all Signal Integrity activities in the Hardware Engineering department of Data Center Division of Microchip Technologies. It involves next generation storage solution product development, defining the standards, and processes for the SI and PI activities; Analysis of high speed printed circuit boards, Interconnects and IC Packages; Design recommendations and validation of the designs in the lab. Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the signal integrity and power integrity analysis and creation of design recommendations for Boards and Systems Development of SI models for packages, boards, Connectors, cables, vias, interconnects and other components needed for complete SI analysis of end-to-end design for high speed serdes (25 GHz) channels and parallel memory interfaces Develop topology, termination schemes, and rules for routing after doing SI analysis by taking into account jitter, SSO, power distribution, core noise, crosstalk, and EMI/EMC Making recommendations for SI flow improvements, through the on-going search for better methodologies, tools, and equipment Evaluation of designs for SI and PI issues and recommendations Hands on validation of waveforms (high speed, mixed signal, jitter, power nets, crosstalk, EMI) and models in our lab using high speed oscilloscopes, TDR, VNA and BERT Scope Provide SI support and documentation to suppliers and customers Provide training and documentation on methodologies, tools, and guidelines Requirements/Qualifications: BSEE/MSEE/Ph.D. with 2-5 years of experience in SI field or 6.5 years of experience in a related field Extensive experience in designing, modeling, and characterization of Gigabit serial, PCIe/SAS/SATA, and DDR4/DDR5 interface signals Extensive experience with package and PCB power delivery modeling and analysis In-depth knowledge of Transmission line and Electromagnetic theory Experience with Ansys, Cadence Sigrity and/or Keysight EDA tools for signal and power integrity Extensive lab experience in measuring and characterizing high speed signals using TDR, VNA, Oscilloscopes, BERT Scope and other instruments for use in modeling software or for signal quality investigations Experience in circuit design and testing/debug is preferred #ZR #LI-MD1 Travel Time: 0% - 25% Physical Attributes: Feeling, Hearing, Other, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around Others Physical Requirements: 90% sitting 10% standing Pay Range: The expected base salary range for this position, if filled in California, is $64,480 - $163,000, dependent on specific skills and work experience.
