Job Description: The Automotive Information Systems (AIS) Group is looking for a Design Engineer based in Austin, Texas with 5 years of experience in digital design to join the seasoned Digital Design team working on automotive information and networking solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of complex ICs for automotive serial communication products. The candidate must be self-motivated, high quality-minded, thorough technical expertise in ASIC and FPGA design and architecture and have excellent communication skills to excel in a global team environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following engineering activities: Architecture and development of digital blocks in digital ASIC and FPGA products RTL design with Verilog/System Verilog, design verification, synthesis and DFT implementation. Participate in block and chip RTL design, chip level integration, prepare RTL for FPGA emulation. Synthesis, definition of synthesis and timing constraints, Static Timing Analysis. Architect FPGA emulation platform for pre-silicon SOC development. Develop system level FPGA emulation plan. Execute system tests concurrently in the pre-silicon design and verification phases. Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems while executing the system FPGA tests. Extract requirements for system emulation from the system specification and DOS. Documentation of designs, requirement tracking through the product development process. Work with Applications team on unified FPGA/bring-up board design solution. Support post-silicon validation and ATE test development. Take ownership of main functional blocks and chip level design and contribute through various phases of the ASIC design process Micro-architecture, RTL design, simulation, synthesis, STA, and post-silicon debugging/testing. Requirements/Qualifications: BSEE/MSEE with minimum 4 years of experience in IC digital design/FPGA. Proficient in hardware description language such as Verilog and System Verilog. Experience with scripting languages such as Perl/Python/Tcl. Basic knowledge of Programming Languages such as C or System C. Knowledge of DSP application in communication systems. Experience with CAD tools such as Design Compiler, PrimeTime, Formality, Questa, SpyGlass, etc. Experienced in using lab equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supplies. Familiar with microcontroller architectures (e.g. ARM) and the interfaces commonly found on microcontrollers (SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, USB, MII/RMII, ARM DAP/SWD). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams across multiple sites. Must have strong analytic and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with FPGA development tools such as Synopsys Synplify, AMD Vivado. Experience in debugging designs using integrated logic analyzers, oscilloscope, etc. Knowledge of networking protocols and physical layers (e.g. Ethernet IEEE 802.1/802.3, TCP/IP).
