Job Description:

Showcase your embedded programming expertise! As a Principal Engineer in the Security Methodology and IP Team at Microchip, you will be at the core of an organization producing and maintaining state-of-the-art security intellectual property, for inclusion in on-silicon security solutions. This position emphasizes embedded programming activity by someone comfortable with microcontroller architecture, software design methodology, and who is flexible enough to adapt with evolving requirements.

Join us and you'll help grow a foundation for Microchip design organizations to develop cost-effective, ultra-secure electronic products for security sensitive and automotive markets. Due to the security sensitive nature of the group projects and team developments, this is not a Work-From-Home position.

Description

• Architect, design and maintain embedded processor firmware modules specified by you or others.
• Participate in the verification and bring-up of security-oriented IP design modules by implementing and debugging embedded operational software, strategizing and implementing test cases, interacting and mentoring team members, as well as interfacing with other group team members within the company.
• Contribute to project requirements identification, proper coding style guidelines, debug techniques and software revision management.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Proficient in C/C as well as understanding low level assembly language for embedded processor development.
• Comfortable with scripting languages such as Python, TCL, Perl.
• Experience with code structure optimization and code revision release management.
• Firmware development experience with ARM, AVR, PIC and RISC-V microcontroller cores.
• Experience with embedded software driver development.
• Experience with source code management tools such as GIT and SVN
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Strong interest in and basic understanding of cryptography and associated concepts.
• Experience with ASPICE and writing software requirements.
• Familiarity with work management aids such as Atlassian JIRA, Confluence and configuration management tools.
• Exposure to the hardware description language VHDL / SystemVerilog / or Verilog.

• BS with 10 years of relevant industry experience, or MS with 7 years of relevant industry experience in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or a degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong software background.
