Job Summary:

This position will report to the Senior Director of Engineering and will be responsible for leading cross-functional engineering projects/programs for the entire product development lifecycle, formulating schedules and budgets, developing and monitoring performance metrics, identifying and managing risks and opportunities, maintaining master project schedules, driving continuous improvements and collaborating with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads and oversees cross-functional interdisciplinary engineering projects/programs throughout the entire product development lifecycle, whether it's New Product Development (NPD) or Sustaining Engineering.
• Formulates schedules, establishes milestones, and creates project budgets to ensure the fulfillment of product requirements.
• Develops and monitors performance metrics to gauge the progress of projects/programs.
• Identifies and manages risks and opportunities associated with projects/programs.
• Maintains integrated master schedules to track project statuses effectively.
• Introduces and upholds new processes and methodologies for product development within the Engineering department.
• Drives continuous process improvement within Engineering and across other functional units within the company, particularly focusing on product development.
• Collaborates closely with Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure a shared understanding of project/program deliverables and expectations for each company function.
• Acts as a liaison between Engineering and other departments, facilitating communication and cooperation.
• Assists in business development efforts, including responding to requests for quotation and estimating proposal costs.
• Actively contributes to the development of technology and product roadmaps.
• Some travel required.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related field.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in project management and leadership roles, with a preference for New Product Development experience.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate relationships between business groups and engineering departments.
• Experience with structured project management methodologies.
• Demonstrated understanding of basic manufacturing processes and production planning.
• Possesses logical and creative problem-solving skills along with strong analytical abilities.
• Experience with basic business financial concepts.
• Proficient in project management tools like Microsoft Project, as well as Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
• Exhibits influencing skills, leading by example, and effectively articulating business cases and cause-effect interpretations.
• Capable of developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships. Shows sensitivity and acts appropriately in diverse cultural contexts.
• Displays highly effective organization and planning abilities.
• Demonstrated proficiency in scoping and estimating work efforts accurately.
• Able to support the needs of and interact appropriately with cross-functional personnel, including executive leadership.
• Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS in Engineering or MBA degrees are preferred.
• Experience with Phase Gate Process for new product development.
• 10 years of working in R&D or Engineering developing complex systems encompassing the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (including firmware and FPGA code development), Automation, and Software Engineering.
