Michigan United Credit Union is Hiring a Full Time Teller Near Oakland, MI

The primary role of the Teller is to provide outstanding service to members by performing transactional duties by receiving or paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy while maintaining accurate transaction records in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. The Teller is also responsible for presenting and explaining a basic number of credit union products and services to members. The Teller must also have the ability to work as a team member and be able to communicate effectively with the member while maintaining a commitment to providing accurate and efficient service to the membership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of all credit union products and services, including, but not limited to: savings accounts, certificates of deposit, IRA & HSA programs, share draft programs, ATM/Debit card services, audio telephone, internet banking, wire transfer rules and procedures, direct deposit, and payroll deduction.

2. Perform routine member transactions, including, but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, loan advances, credit card payments, credit card advances, transfers, check cashing, night drop, mail payments, and money orders.

3. Ensure all member transactions are posted accurately, efficiently and within credit union policies and procedures. Obtain supervisor approval for any transactions that are outside employee’s assigned limit parameters. Properly complete a Currency Transaction Report and Suspicious Activity Report if applicable.

4. Obtains ID verifications, OFAC information, and other necessary information for member and non-member transactions. Verifies and analyzes the information as necessary for prudent and proper determination of transaction validity.

5. Responsible for balancing cash drawer at the end of the day and comparing the totaled amount to the core processor generated tally. Research and resolve any outages and report any unresolved outages to the head teller.

6. Provide routine information on credit union products and services including eligibility for membership, types of credit union accounts, fee schedule, loan products, interest rates, current dividend rates, website, online banking, locations, office hours, and telephone numbers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour
