Location: Hybrid - Ann Arbor

Manages Purchasing Team Members (7) in order to achieve financial, quality, safety, and warranty objectives. Leads and manages subordinate departmental managers including but not limited to Commodity Buyers, Plant(s) MRO Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Facilities.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and develops key talent and appropriately manages team members to ensure success of all individuals in the department.
• Negotiating contracts and long term agreements across NA operations.
• Manages the tactical operations of the materials management, purchasing functions, and others as assigned.
• Collaborates with inventory management team to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning.
• Works with counterparts in other functional areas such as Sales, Product Management, Program Management, Engineering, and the Warehouse to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.
• Identifies and implements process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Identifies vendor opportunities and challenges and partners with the product management team to ensure appropriate resolution.
• Leads contract discussions, negotiations, and implementation with cross functional team.
• Leads/supports innovation and Carbon Neutrality/Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
• This position will require 10-20% travel. Travel can include visits to our facilities and to suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field.
• 8-10 years of position-related experience.
• Management experience
• Proficient in MSO
• Proficient in SAP and/or Oracle desired
