Michigan Primary Care Association is Hiring a Remote SOM-Clinical Nurse Reviewer

WORK DETAILS

Overview: Provide an overview of the objective of the work and role of the contractor.

Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) will provide family planning clinical expertise and technical assistance to the MDHHS Family Planning program necessary to meet the stipulated program requirements as detailed in the MDHHS Family Planning and Guidelines Manual, derived from the federal Title X grant funding and state law (pharmacy law, mandated reporting, and others).

Statement of Work: Provide the detail of the work that will be completed.

  • Review Title X Family Planning agency materials (clinical protocols, forms, policies, prior report etc.) prior to accreditation/site review.
  • Conduct on-site clinical accreditation/site reviews at both local health departments and community-based Title X agencies using the current Family Planning program accreditation and site review tool.
  • Complete required reports, review plans of correction, and conduct follow-up activities according to required time frames.
  • Conduct on-site monitoring visits at both local health departments and community-based Title X agencies using the current program review items.
  • Participate in accreditation/site review team meetings (via in-person or virtual platform).
  • Provide nursing consultation and technical assistance to MDHHS and Title X family planning funded agencies as needed.
  • Attend MDHHS accreditation reviewers team meetings/trainings.
  • Provide verbal or written recommendations for program improvement of family planning services and/or site/accreditation reviews.
  • Submit monthly billing on the requested forms.
  • Attend and/or present at the annual Michigan Family Planning Conference.
  • Attend (as requested) staff meetings via conference call.
  • Attend Nurse Reviewer meetings as scheduled.
  • Attend and/or present at the Family Planning update webinar.
  • Provide clinical preceptor training with agency nurse practitioners when requested.
  • Attend the national Title X clinical conference if budget allows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Provide the qualifications that are needed to fulfil the statement of work.

Possession of a master's degree in nursing and relevant Nurse Practitioner training/certification in the specialty area for the position held, or possession of mid-level clinician licensure and relevant training/certification in the specialty area for position held.

Experience: One year of Nurse Practitioner/Provider experience in women’s health, family planning or public health nursing with experience in maternal child health.

Please note: This will be an Independent Contractor for Michigan Primary Care Association. The work will require on average 20-80 hours per week. Required amount of travel in state; 1-2 days per month estimate.
