The Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is seeking advocates to register and update voter registrations for Michigan voters.

Key Information:

• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Compensation: $19 per hour
• Dates: May 28 - August 30, 2024
• Location: Metro Detroit
• Employer: This position will be hired through a third party.

Job Responsibilities This position reports to the Voting Rights Manager and the Lead Advocate and is responsible for the following:

• Attend online and in-person trainings on all educational outlets and technology platforms used by Michigan LCVEF’s Democracy for All program
• Identify and attend high-traffic areas to register eligible Michiganders to vote and re-registered voters at their correct addresses
• Collect and submit voter registration cards
• Communicate within communities about voting rights, government, and voting accessibility information

Qualifications We are seeking candidates who want to build genuine relationships and support voter registration, education, and mobilization efforts in Michigan. You should have:

• The ability to work in person, as required, a flexible 35 hours per week
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to listen to others and articulate their ideas clearly
• The ability to work well independently and creatively with others as a team
• A strong, innovative work ethic, including a self-starting drive to complete goals and tasks in a timely manner as well as the ability to start work on time every day
• A belief in the importance of voting rights and voter education
• Reliable access to transportation, the internet, and a phone to use for work purposes
