Phlebotomy Instructor
Job Summary:

The Phlebotomy Instructor will assist and instruct students under the supervision of the Michigan Healthcare Academy (MHA) Phlebotomy Instructor. This position involves teaching, advising students, interviewing potential students and utilization and teaching of the State of Michigan requirements.

Job Duties:

· Able to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills

· Exhibit personal and professional integrity which reflects a positive display of the Code of Ethics.

· Show an uncompromising commitment to quality customer service and student learning through MHA’s mission, vision, values and the delivery of instruction

· Deal effectively, tactfully and cooperatively with all students, faculty and guests of Michigan Healthcare Academy and our Affiliation partnerships

· Maintain accurate and appropriate program and course work, logs, student records, expense and tracking sheets.

· Maintain current Certified Phlebotomy licensure and Phlebotomy certificates

· Keep current with information related to the topics you are instructing on

· Inform Program Coordinator when teaching supplies are needed

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Primary Instructor or Program Coordinator

· Instruct and observe all laboratory sessions

· Assist Program Coordinator with recruitment and marketing efforts

· Ensure that safe practices are utilized by students and self

Minimum Qualifications:

· Possess a current unencumbered National Certification in Phlebotomy

· Have experience in teaching adults or willingness to attend training in teaching adults

· At least 2 years of experience working as a Phlebotomist.

· Proficiency in all MS Office products

Physical Requirements:

· Able to see, hear, speak, read and write (with or without accommodation)

· Able to reach and bend

· Able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs.
