Join Michigan Education Corps for the 2023-2024 school year as an Early Learning Corps Interventionist and help kids get ready for kindergarten. As an Interventionist you’ll spend your days helping children ages 3-5 to talk, read, write, sing and play in order to develop early literacy skills and get ready for Kindergarten. Embedded in a classroom, you’ll work closely with a teacher to enhance daily literacy activities and help students build both skills and confidence. With great training and onsite coaching, you’ll be ready to make an impact through enhanced opportunities to develop their early language, literacy and math skills. No experience? No problem. Schedule: Monday – Thurs 30 hours per week. Requires 4 days per week (M-Thu). Position starts 8/14/2023 or 8/28/2023 (depending on the school placement) and ends 6/1/2024.
Compensation/Benefits: living stipend of $605.10 biweekly (totaling $1,210.20 per month), education award of up to $2,626.27 that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses; federal student loan forbearance. Health insurance and childcare assistance is available for full-time interventionists. Interventionists who serve the duration of the school year may elect to complete their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
