Qualifications:

  • Candidate must hold an approved State of Michigan secondary teaching certificate with a Social Studies endorsement (RX, CX) with an additional endorsement preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related fields
  • Provide high quality instruction that supports and aligns to the district’s educational vision and mission.
  • Facilitate an environment that fosters the learning of all students.
  • Remain knowledgeable of educational standards and strategies to meet the academic, developmental and social emotional needs of students.
  • Assess and modify instructional practice leading toward increased student achievement.
  • Utilize educational technology to support student’s instruction and learning.
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, peers, parents and community.

    Terms of Employment:

    School year as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association.

    COMPENSATION: Appropriate placement on the salary schedule as defined in the written agreement between the New Haven Board of Education and the New Haven Education Association which can be found at www.newhaven.misd.net under the transparency.

    EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy of the Board of Education and Administrative Guidelines.
