Michigan Association of School Boards is Hiring a School Social Worker Near Saginaw, MI

Position Details

Qualifications:

  • Fully Licensed Social Work Degree (LMSW)
Successful experience in school counseling (preferred)

Job Duties:

  • Work with K-12 students on academic growth, problem solving, and conflict resolution
  • Assist with the development and implementation of a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS)
  • Support the development and implementation of a school wide positive behavior system (PBIS)
  • Support individual students for personal, social, and emotional growth as related to their educational and social development.
  • Develop support groups for students who have similar challenges affecting their school success
  • Initiate intervention and prevention programming for at-risk students
  • Facilitate and monitor Section 504 plans for individual students
  • Communicate with parents to increase their understanding of school programs and student progress and/or needs
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members
  • Compile and report 31a data for assigned building
  • Refer students to appropriate community resources in consultation with parents
  • All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

Salary: Wages and benefits in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Chesaning Union School District and Chesaning Education Association MEA/NEA. This position is grant funded through Section 31aa and will be dependent upon the continuation of those grant funds.
